Billy Doughty joined GrandView Financial Group in the fall of 2023, bringing an incredible work ethic and a passion for helping his clients.

Billy is a small-town Mississippi boy who loves the outdoors. He grew up in West Point, Mississippi where his father instilled a strong work ethic in him at an early age. Billy learned quickly the value of hard work and has not been scared of it since.

Billy earned his undergraduate degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Business Information Systems with a minor in Finance from Mississippi State University. After college, Billy spent some time in Aspen, Colorado working on the mountain and enjoying the outdoors. The most important thing he learned in Colorado is that his home and his heart will always be in the South. Billy spent 13 years working in the family construction business. In 2008, he began his business as a licensed real estate broker, home inspector, and commercial contractor. Billy used the lessons he learned in the family business to start his own. After almost 6 years, Billy was ready for a change and transitioned into the world of finance.

Billy holds a Series 7, 63, 6, and Series 66 licenses through LPL Financial. He is also life/health insurance licensed which allows him to write life insurance, long-term care insurance, disability insurance, annuities, medical supplements, and health insurance.

While clients entrust Billy with managing their finances, he insists that his clients understand what they are doing and why. Education is a huge part of his focus in client meetings and various educational seminars and classes he makes available to those he works with.

“I feel that my clients are intelligent and could choose to manage their financial needs and risks themselves. However, they realize that doing that requires time; to do the research and time to manage the process. With time being our most valuable and limited asset, they prefer to spend their time with their spouse, children, and grandchildren, or doing whatever they are passionate about. Because of the deep personal relationships I cultivate with my clients, I enable them to do more of what they are passionate about,” Billy explains.

“My business does not exist alone. It is a part of our community. I believe it is important to give back to the community that has supported my family and business. I find my clients feel the same way. On various occasions throughout the year, we donate our time and/or money to a cause we feel passionate about.”

Just a few of the community and international organizations Billy has participated in are Grace Klein Community, Easter Seals, Neverthirst, Church of the Highlands, Kingdom Advisors, and Children, Inc.

Billy is a dad to three boys — Will, J.T., and Parker. They share his love of the outdoors and of course, they love their digital devices. When they are not at school or doing homework, you can find them at cross-country meets, track meets, baseball games, or the lacrosse field.

At the heart of his investment philosophy is having a plan that supports the goals of each unique client. He starts with goals and then helps identify what matters most to you. Through that ongoing relationship, Billy will help monitor, review, re-assess, and adjust your goals as necessary to meet the ever-changing needs of your life to pursue what success looks like to you.
